    Wu-Tang Clan is a hip-hop group from Staten Island that formed in 1992 and became one of the most influential rap collectives of the 1990s. The group originally had nine members, including RZA, GZA, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and Masta Killa. They broke through with their 1993 debut album Enter the Wu‑Tang (36 Chambers), which helped shape the gritty East Coast rap sound with raw beats, kung-fu movie samples, and street storytelling. The group also created a unique business model where members signed solo deals with different labels while still staying part of the collective, allowing many successful solo careers while keeping the Wu-Tang name active.
