    Lesley Gore was one of the defining voices of early-’60s pop, bursting onto the scene as a teenager with “It’s My Party,” a No. 1 hit that made her a household name almost overnight. Working with producer Quincy Jones, she followed it with memorable songs like “You Don’t Own Me,” “Judy’s Turn to Cry,” “Maybe I Know,” and “Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows,” while gradually showing a more mature and independent side as a songwriter and performer. Beyond her classic pop hits, Gore later explored more personal material and earned an Academy Award nomination for co-writing “Out Here on My Own” from Fame. She released 12 studio albums during her lifetime, not including "Magic Colors: The Lost Album" which was released posthumously in 2011 featuring previously unreleased recordings, leaving behind a vinyl catalog that goes well beyond the familiar ’60s hits.
