    David Carroll was an American arranger, conductor, producer, and bandleader who became one of Mercury Records’ leading names in easy listening orchestral music during the 1950s and ’60s. Born Rodell Walter Schreier, he worked behind the scenes on numerous hit recordings before making his own name with lively instrumental albums and a 1965 Top 10 hit version of “Melody of Love.” His records mixed big orchestra polish with dance floor energy, percussion, Latin rhythms, and colorful arrangements, making them especially appealing to fans of vintage lounge and easy listening vinyl.
