    Simple Minds are a Scottish pop-rock band formed in Glasgow in 1977, built around longtime friends Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill. They started out in the post‑punk scene but quickly grew into one of the biggest bands of the ’80s, known for their sweeping, atmospheric sound and huge anthems. Their global breakthrough came with “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” which became a defining song of the decade. Over the years they’ve shifted styles, toured the world, and kept releasing new music, earning a reputation as one of the most enduring bands to come out of the UK.
