Discover the Artists, Albums & Vinyl Legacy of Dolton Records
Dolton Records was born in Seattle in the late 1950s, originally launching as Dolphin Records before changing its name because another record company was already using the name Dolphin. Keeping its distinctive fish logo, Dolton quickly made a name for itself with hitmakers The Fleetwoods and later became the home of instrumental rock legends The Ventures. Liberty Records acquired Dolton in 1960, making it a division of Liberty and helping bring its Pacific Northwest sound to a wider audience. Though the Dolton label was retired in the late 1960s, its records remain treasured by collectors of classic surf rock, vintage pop, and early instrumental rock & roll.
