Abbey Lincoln (1930–2010) was an American jazz singer, songwriter, and actress whose voice carried plenty of soul, honesty, and emotion. Born in Chicago, she became known for singing with real feeling and choosing songs that spoke about love, life, freedom, and the struggles of everyday people. She also worked closely with legendary drummer Max Roach, helping create some of jazz's most meaningful music. With her deep, unique voice and fearless style, Lincoln carved out a place all her own in jazz history. She released approximately 24 studio albums as a leader or co-leader, depending on how one counts her collaborative releases. You can browse all of our available Abbey Lincoln vinyl records.
