With Ozzy Osbourne’s haunting vocals, Tony Iommi’s crushing guitar riffs, Geezer Butler’s heavy bass lines, and Bill Ward’s pounding drums, they turned everyday fears and social issues into music that felt almost supernatural. Their early albums like Paranoid set the tone for the entire genre. After Ozzy left, the band kept going with Ronnie James Dio in Heaven and Hell, proving they could reinvent themselves no matter the lineup. Ozzy went off to have wild success as a solo artist and Dio also formed his own band, keeping their own influences alive.
