Kenny Rankin was a New York-born singer, songwriter, and guitarist whose smooth voice and tasteful guitar work gave him a sound that could move effortlessly between pop, folk, jazz, and sophisticated adult contemporary music. He first made his mark in the 1960s, including playing guitar on Bob Dylan’s Bringing It All Back Home, before building his own career with albums such as Like A Seed, Silver Morning, and The Kenny Rankin Album. He was also the writer of “Peaceful,” which became a hit for Helen Reddy, and was known for putting his own elegant spin on songs by The Beatles and other major songwriters. Over his career, Kenny Rankin has released more than a dozen albums, leaving behind a vinyl catalog prized by listeners who appreciate warm vocals, beautiful guitar playing, and songs that sit comfortably between pop and jazz.
