Three Dog Night formed in Los Angeles in 1967. They weren’t just a soft rock band, they were three lead singers backed by a tight crew of musicians. That setup gave them a huge sound and let them tackle all kinds of songs, from soulful ballads to funky rock. They didn’t write most of their own material, but they had a gift for picking winners, as “Joy to the World,” “Mama Told Me Not to Come,” and “One” turned into radio gold. Their name came from an Australian saying about cold nights, but their music warmed up millions. With harmonies that soared and a streak of chart topping hits, Three Dog Night made music that stuck deep in your head. You can browse all of our available Three Dog Night vinyl records.
