Fleetwood Mac started as a British blues band and ended up making some of the most iconic classic rock music ever. Formed in 1967 by drummer Mick Fleetwood and guitarist Peter Green, the band originally leaned heavy into blues. But things really took off when Americans Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined in 1975. That lineup of Mick Fleetwood, John and Christine McVie, Buckingham, and Nicks turned emotional chaos into musical gold. Their 1977 album Rumours was packed with breakup songs written by band members about each other, yet it became one of the best-selling albums of all time.
