    Mary, released in 1971, was Mary Travers’ first solo flight after soaring with Peter, Paul and Mary, and she didn’t just dip a toe, she dove in heart-first. The album features covers of songs by John Denver, Elton John, and Paul Simon that she made entirely her own. It’s got a warm, earthy vibe, thanks to lush arrangements by Lee Holdridge and production from Milton Okun, who helped keep things intimate but polished.
