Pink Floyd's Animals, released in 1977, is a concept album that compares people to dogs, pigs, and sheep to show how messed up the world can be. The band recorded it in their own London studio, Britannia Row, and it marked a shift where Roger Waters took creative control. The songs are long, moody, and packed with meaning, especially “Dogs,” which runs over 17 minutes and paints a picture of ruthless business types. The album cover, featuring a flying pig over Battersea Power Station, became iconic and perfectly matched the rebellious tone. Unlike their earlier dreamy soundscapes, Animals is raw and angry, reflecting the political tension in Britain at the time. This album from Floyd is a protest, wrapped in epic guitar solos and haunting synths.
