    Anne Murray’s debut album What About Me, released in 1968, introduced her warm, folk‑leaning sound before she became an international star. The record was first put out only in Canada and mixed original material with covers, including her early take on Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now.” It was recorded in Toronto and produced by Brian Ahern, who helped shape her early style. The album didn’t make a big splash at the time, but it quietly set the stage for the smoother country-pop direction that would later make her famous.
