Goin' For Another One catches Bohannon in his early-'80s groove, where his trademark funk and disco sound starts opening up toward jazz and pop. Released in 1981 on Phase II Records, the six track album is driven by punchy drums, horns, funky guitar and the kind of steady rhythms Bohannon was known for. From the upbeat “The Happy Dance” to the eight minute “Symphonic March,” it’s a dance record with plenty of instrumental muscle and a slightly smoother sound than some of his earlier work.
