Lynn Anderson’s Uptown Country Girl is a 1970 country album that shows off her knack for turning familiar songs into something fresh with her clear, lively voice and classic Nashville sound. Released on Chart Records and produced by Slim Williamson, this 10-track collection mixes honky-tonk spirit with smoother country-pop touches. Highlights include her road-trip favorite “I’ve Been Everywhere,” the heartfelt “He’d Still Love Me,” and her take on Merle Haggard’s “Okie from Muskogee.” The album reached No. 29 on the U.S. country album chart, making it a fun snapshot of Lynn Anderson’s career just before her breakthrough years with Columbia Records.
