Paul Revere & The Raiders’ A Christmas Present…And Past puts a distinctive rock-and-pop spin on the holiday season, mixing festive melodies with thoughtful lyrics and a few unexpected twists. Released in 1967 on Columbia Records, the album features lead singer Mark Lindsay and moves beyond traditional Christmas songs to explore themes of peace, kindness, and the true meaning of the holidays. Tracks like “Wear a Smile at Christmas,” “Peace,” “Brotherly Love,” and “A Heavy Christmas Message” give the record a mix of seasonal warmth and social commentary, making it an unusual and memorable entry in the band's catalog. For collectors, it’s a fascinating snapshot of a late-'60s rock group using a Christmas album to say something a little deeper than “season's greetings.”
