    Repeater by Fugazi is a raw, energetic record that helped define the sound of early 1990s underground rock. Released through the band’s own label Dischord Records, it was recorded in 1989 at Inner Ear Studios and became their first true full length album after their earlier EP releases. The music blends sharp guitar riffs, tight bass and drums, and shouted vocals that tackle themes like consumerism, social pressure, and personal responsibility, especially on tracks like “Merchandise.” Even without mainstream promotion or radio hits, the album spread widely through constant touring and word of mouth, eventually selling hundreds of thousands of copies and becoming a cornerstone of the post-punk and post-hardcore movement.
