     The Game was Queen’s bold leap into the 1980s, where they ditched their “no synthesizers” rule and embraced a slicker, funkier vibe. It’s the album where they got playful with disco grooves and bass-heavy beats. “Another One Bites the Dust” became a monster hit thanks in part to a nudge from Michael Jackson. Recorded in Munich, the band split the sessions across two years, giving the album a layered feel that mixes rock with some polished pop. Freddie Mercury’s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” was written in a flash while he was soaking in the tub, and it channels Elvis so hard you’d swear the King was back. Each band member had a hand in writing, making it a true group effort, and it ended up being their only album to hit No. 1 in the U.S. It was Queen loosening their ties and having fun, and it worked like magic.
