    Macho Man is the Village People’s second studio album and the record that gave the group its first major American hit. Released in 1978, it is pure late-’70s disco: energetic grooves, big vocals, strong playful lyrics and even larger personality. The title track became their first U.S. Top 40 hit, reaching No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album itself climbed to No. 24. At barely 28 minutes, it doesn’t waste much time getting people to the dance floor.
