Released in 1964 on Vocalion Records, Sings Country Songs captures the legendary Bill Monroe and his Blue Grass Boys performing a wonderful collection of traditional country and bluegrass music. Featuring 12 songs originally recorded between 1950 and 1959, this album brings together sincere vocals, lively mandolin playing, and the unique sound that helped shape bluegrass music. Particularly interesting to collectors, is that three of the tracks were previously unreleased recordings, making it more than just a collection of familiar favorites.
