    Paris was the gritty debut of a short-lived but electrifying power trio led by Bob Welch after his Fleetwood Mac days. Dropping in 1976, this album was Welch trading in his velvet jacket for a leather one. It was loud, riff-heavy, and unapologetically rock. He teamed up with Glenn Cornick from Jethro Tull and Thom Mooney from Nazz, forming a lineup that felt like a secret supergroup. Recorded with raw energy and minimal polish, it didn’t aim for radio hits, it aimed for your gut. Tracks like “Beautiful Youth” and “Black Book” throb with attitude, and the whole album feels like it was made in a dark smokey basement with amps turned to eleven. It didn’t climb high on the charts, but it carved out a cult following that still swears by its melodic heaviness. Paris didn’t stick around long, but this album left a loud, lasting echo.
