    Meet The Beatles! is the record that effectively introduced America to The Beatles in full-blown Beatlemania mode. Released by Capitol in January 1964, just weeks before the band landed in New York and famously appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show, it was the first Beatles album Capitol released in the U.S. Rather than simply copying the British With The Beatles, Capitol reshuffled the material and added the huge American hit “I Want To Hold Your Hand,” along with “I Saw Her Standing There” and “This Boy.” The result is a short, punchy album loaded with instantly memorable songs, tight harmonies and the youthful energy that helped turn The Beatles from a British sensation into a worldwide phenomenon. It shot to No. 1 in the U.S. and stayed there for 11 weeks, making it one of the most important albums in the story of the British Invasion.
