Best of Dolly Parton is a fantastic snapshot of Dolly Parton's songwriting and country sound during the first half of the 1970s, bringing together ten standout recordings from her RCA years. Released in 1975, it includes some of her most enduring songs, including “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You,” “Coat of Many Colors,” “The Bargain Store,” “Love Is Like a Butterfly,” and “My Tennessee Mountain Home.” Most of the songs were written by Dolly herself, making this more than just a collection of hits, it’s a showcase of why she became one of country music’s most respected songwriters. With classic Nashville production and Dolly’s unique voice at the center, this is an easy recommendation for anyone wanting a strong introduction to her early-’70s songs.
